Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor

Here is the finished subfloor - locally known as the dance floor.Rachael and Oscar - you gotta get me down from here....

We took a visit to the timber framers - here are three of our four valley beams measuring 8" by 14" in size.

Here are some timbers ready for packaging for transport to site.

Our front deck piers.

We now have a site office - well, a portaloo!
Here are two folks trying to decide where to put it.

The site.

The frame will start to go up this week - we shall keep you posted!

Foundation, backfill and slab pouring

The 1st October 2010 we got our foundation walls poured for the house and garage.
A couple of days later the shuttering was removed. Below is the wall at the front of the house all 9 feet tall. Sono tubes for the deck piers.

The delivery of the lumber for the subfloor and foam insulation for the crawl space.

This was after the waterproofing guy had been in to spray the foundations which would be below grade. You wouldn't think that this day the temperature got to 24 degrees C in the afternoon!

Rachael and Oscar stood in the house after the backfill.

Shaun stood on the house!

We had a break from visiting site and went to see our timberframers, here is one of our timbers showing the end profile we have chosen.

This was the pouring of the slab for the crawl space in the house.

2 days later the subfloor was looking good.

Our Contractors even set up our plastic garden seat so we had a view!

Hope you enjoyed the update - let us know what you think.
Have a great day!
